Chaperone Policy
There are occasions when patients need to be assessed by a doctor/nurse which may involve an intimate examination.
All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation, examination or procedure where they consider one is required. The chaperone may be a family member or friend, but on occasions a formal chaperone may be preferred.
The surgery is committed to putting patients at ease whenever possible. If you wish a chaperone to be present during your examination please do not hesitate to ask the doctor/nurse.
It may not be possible for a formal chaperone to be provided immediately and you may be requested to return for the examination to be carried out at a mutually convenient time.
